Job Summary:


The Crisis Cold Weather Shelter Shuttle Driver provides transportation to and from Crisis Cold Weather Sites as needed throughout the season, from November 1st to April 15th.

Evaluation:


The Continuum of Care Director, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Crisis Cold Weather Shuttle Driver.

Reporting Structure:


The Crisis Cold Weather Shelter Shuttle Driver will report to the Continuum of Care Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provides shuttle services from a central location to designated sites on nights when Crisis Cold Weather Shelters are open and shuttle services from Crisis Cold Weather Shelters to a designated location the following morning.
  • Conducts inspections of the shuttle, reporting any mechanical or maintenance needs to the Continuum of Care Director or other designated entity.
  • Engages with guests to ensure safe travel to designated sites.
  • Tracks and reports number of individuals served.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Ensures current licensure and/or certifications, if applicable.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Outdoor exposure – Shuttle driver will be transporting guests to Crisis Cold Weather Shelters during extreme cold and inclement weather.
  • Driving is an essential job function of this job position.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:


  • License or Certification – Shuttle Drivers must have a valid driver’s license (Class E).
  • High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
  • Flexibility to work evening and morning shifts.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling exceeds these minimum requirements.
  • Experience working with those experiencing homelessness is preferred.
  • Ability to work under stressful circumstances at times.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Adheres to the company's Standards of Business Conduct.

Position Clarification:


The position of Crisis Cold Weather Shelter Shuttle Driver is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. The job duties are subject to change, based on the funding requirements. This is a non-exempt, part-time, as needed position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
