Financial Specialist
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for accounts payable, cash receipts and general ledger duties for Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc.
Evaluation:
The Chief Financial Officer, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Financial Specialist.
Reporting Structure:
The Financial Specialist will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of accounts payable invoices – coding, entry and payment;
- Vendor management including Form W-9 documentation as needed;
- Distribution and mailing of checks in a timely manner;
- Reconciliation of monthly credit card statements;
- Copies of invoices as requested for grant/contract billings;
- Company credit card tracking and issuance of cards to employees:
- Tracking of gift card signature sheets;
- Annual IRS Form 1099 reporting at end of calendar year.
- Prepare and process deposits (remote banking and cash deposits);
- Cash receipts entries into accounting system – including direct deposits.
- Prepare monthly journal entries – bulk mail, postage, others as assigned;
- Monthly reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts;
- Audit workpaper preparation and assistance with auditor’s fieldwork requests for documentation.
- Assists Chief Financial Officer in any other duties, projects and assignments as needed;
- Cross-trained in payroll functions;
- Participate in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities;
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in accounting or related field;
- 2 years accounts payable/cash receipts processing experience required;
- Knowledge of accounts payable/cash receipts/accounting principles and practices required;
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite required;
- Time management and organizational skills are a must in order to handle multiple tasks with various priorities;
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Must be detail oriented and able to handle written and numerical data with speed and accuracy;
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills;
- Must demonstrate a professional, friendly manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Position Clarification:
The position of Financial Specialist is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. The job duties are subject to change, based on the funding requirements. This is an exempt, full-time position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
