Job Summary:


This full-time position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work with multiple community organizations and partners to maintain VITA tax clinics and expand the program.

Evaluation:


The Vice President of Community and Neighborhood Development, following adopted policies of The Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc, evaluates the VITA Program Coordinator.

Reporting Structure:


The VITA Program Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Community & Neighborhood Development

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and/or maintain relationships with community organizations and partner agencies;
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote the traditional VITA tax clinics and Facilitated Self-Assisted sites;
  • Recruit and retain volunteers;
  • Organize and give informational presentations on a regular basis;
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with Site Coordinators and each site that sponsors a tax clinic;
  • Maintain an appointment schedule for the clinics that are appointment-based;
  • Actively seek funding sources and opportunities for the program;
  • Certify as a volunteer tax preparer and assist in at least one VITA clinic each week through preparing taxes and assisting the Site Coordinator with other duties;
  • Establish new partnerships with community organizations to expand services to under-served and minority populations;
  • Monitor program expenses and document in-kind services, numbers served, outcome measures, etc. as required for reports to grand and funding sources;
  • Implement evaluation methods for program;
  • Maintain confidentiality;
  • Participate in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:


  • Required minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Three (3) years prior paid work experience;
  • Knowledge of local/community resources;
  • Strong computer skills, especially internet and Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher);
  • Experience with program/event planning and management;
  • Experience and knowledge of budget development and management;
  • Flexible schedule and must be able to work some evenings and weekends;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take a team approach and develop relationships within the agency, and in the public and private sectors;
  • Public speaking/facilitation skills;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to measure and evaluate program performance;
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Experience and knowledge of grant writing and facilitation;
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the mission and work of the Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc.

Position Clarification:


The position of is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. This position is a non-exempt full-time position.
