Job Summary:

This is a professional position that is responsible for executive oversight, grant writing, and visionary leadership of the Community and Neighborhood Development (CND) Division of Community Partnership, including all initiatives, grants and contracts that deal with neighborhood and community development unless assigned to one of the other Vice Presidents.


The President/CEO, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Vice President of Community and Neighborhood Development.

Reporting Structure:

The Vice President of Community and Neighborhood Development reports to the President/CEO of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grant writing for maintenance and expansion of CND Division programs;
  • Represents Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc. at meetings and conferences;
  • Ensures compliance with grant/contract mandated reporting requirements;
  • Assists with development of policies and procedures for organization as needed;
  • Identifies and secures appropriate partnerships to further CND Division initiatives;
  • Provides monthly reports to the CPO Board of Directors and others as needed;
  • Supervises CND Division staff;
  • Provides leadership for Caring Communities, DYS, Financial Stability, SPS School Based Social Work, and other programs in the CND Division;
  • Participates in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years paid professional work experience of which at least 3 are in a supervisory/leadership capacity;
  • Proven experience and success in grant writing;
  • Ability to make professional presentations on Community Partnership programs and services;
  • Proven ability to manage and facilitate collaborative decision making and achieve established outcomes;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills;
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets;
  • Detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines, and able to manage multiple tasks/projects;
  • Ability to interact well with people of diverse populations;
  • Comfortable with being a change agent;
  • Comfortable with public speaking skills;
  • Flexible and innovative;
  • Experience with visioning, strategic planning and problem solving;
  • Must have a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and experience working with people of all backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences.

Position Clarification:

The position of Vice President of Community & Neighborhood Development is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. This is an exempt, full-time position. Grant funding dictates pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
