Job Summary:


The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for oversight and management of the financial and human resources operations of the organization. This role will oversee the daily financial and human resources functions, including month-end closings, budgeting, forecasting, bank relations, investment management, grants/contracts financial management and compliance, risk management, and payroll compliance for Community Partnership of the Ozarks, Inc.

Evaluation:


The President/CEO, following adopted policies of Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Chief Financial Officer.

Reporting Structure:


The Chief Financial Officer reports to the President/CEO of Community Partnership of the Ozarks.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis;
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, human resources and other financial systems;
  • Prepare financial reports for the President/CEO, Board of Directors, management team, and funding sources;
  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits and other report requirements;
  • Management of all grants/contracts to ensure financial reporting and fiduciary compliance;
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and other financial service providers;
  • Assists in the development of annual operating budgets;
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the President/CEO;
  • Oversee the Human Resources/Payroll Director by providing support in the development of human resources policies and processes;
  • Oversight of all human resources/payroll tax filings and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations;
  • Assists President/ CEO and leadership team with development and implementation of strategic plan and goals that support the organization’s mission and vision;
  • Lead the Finance Committee, collaborating with other committee members and President/CEO to provide strategic financial guidance and support to the organization;
  • Collaborate with the President/CEO and Finance Committee to develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the organization’s values and strategic goals;
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development;
  • Risk management oversight;
  • Maintain Legal Records of Corporation including leases, certificates of deposit, grants/contracts and personnel records;
  • Manages investments and provides reports to President/CEO;
  • Participate in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field;
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management with at least 5 years in a non-profit organization required;
  • Proven track record of successful financial management including experience managing grants/contracts financial reporting and compliance;
  • Must have strong knowledge of non-profit fund accounting, general knowledge of human resources/payroll processing, and the ability to learn and understand the programs and services of Community Partnership of the Ozarks;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizing and decision-making skills;
  • Technically proficient with knowledge of computer programs and systems;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a swift-paced environment;
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams;
  • Passion for the mission and work of the organization.

Position Clarification:


The position of Chief Financial Officer is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. This is an exempt, full-time position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
