Job Summary:


The Prevention Program Director is responsible for planning and implementing a broad-based youth substance misuse prevention program and is the program’s primary contact with community partners and stakeholders. This position will develop evidence-based prevention program content, increase community engagement with the program by being active and visible in the community, develop and sustain collaborative relationships with partners and agencies supporting the program, and provide consistent and professional customer service support and communication with those served by the program.

Evaluation:


The Vice President of Prevention and Youth Services, following adopted policies of The Community Partnership of the Ozarks, evaluates the Prevention Program Director.

Reporting Structure:


The Prevention Program Director reports directly to the Vice President of Prevention & Youth Support.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Daily administration of program planning, implementation, and budget management;
  • Assist in developing outreach materials and media campaigns;
  • Maintain consistent contact with partners and those served by the program;
  • Maintain an updated database of those supporting and/or served by the program;
  • Public speak at community and partner events, and table at conferences to promote the program;
  • Recruit new partners to be served by the program;
  • Prepare reports, required paperwork and other communication materials in a timely manner;
  • Assist with grant writing and sponsorship development to financially support the program;
  • High level strategic thinking, planning and communication;
  • Ensure compliance with grant-mandated implementation and reporting requirements;
  • Participate in relevant professional development and training opportunities;
  • Participate in CPO’s resource development/fundraising activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, planning, education, marketing, non-profit/business management, or related field from an accredited college or university;
  • Minimum of three years paid professional experience;
  • Strong computer skills, especially Adobe, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Strong internet literacy, including email, web browsing, virtual meeting platforms, and online collaboration tools;
  • Experience with program/event planning and management;
  • Experience and knowledge of budget development and management;
  • Proven written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with the public and private sectors;
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow through;
  • Excellent time management skills-must be able to multi-task and balance competing priorities;
  • Ability to speak effectively in public and make professional presentations;
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed;

Position Clarification:


The position of Prevention Program Director is a grant-funded position and is based upon funding availability. This is a full-time, exempt position. Grant funding dictates the pay range for this position. CPO receives federal grants and contracts and therefore must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
