School-Based Social Work

What is School-Based Social Work?

We offer School-Based Social Work services to students and families in the Springfield Public School district. All students and families who are referred by the school will be connected with a social worker. This social worker can help:

  • Work with family to learn and address needs and concerns
  • Provide resources for immediate stabilization
  • Be a mentor and support person
  • Meet to identify what is most important to the student and family
  • Set goals and work to remove obstacles
  • Help achieve academic success and improve overall well-being

Social workers create connections by building relationships with students and families. They work to meet with them weekly with the hope of helping families become more self-sufficient. Referrals are made by Springfield Public School counselors. For more information about our program contact Krista Rose, Director of School-Based Social Work.
